Huahin is a small Thai-city at the coast of the gulf of Siam . It has a street parallel to the beach ( Naresdamri Rrd ) and a dozen of piers with restaurants or rooms on it . the old quarters west thereof have narrow alleys and walkways ( sois ) . Shops and markets are on the other side of the highly trafficked road to Bangkok

( Petchkasem Rd ) .

Between Naresdamri Rd and Petchkasem Rd there are shops, cafees, restaurants , health-parlours and in front of those , on the sidewalks you can sit and have coffee, tea or hot/cold choclat . You can meet Thai people or most likely `farangs` , foreigners or expatriates . In the hot season you will rather sit inside with the aircondition . Cats and Günthers small cafe´ is very central and opposite go buses to Bangkok every second hour . If you are in discovery mood now , try to find Peter´s and Lek´s small sidewalk restaurant on Ponsook alley or Beebees restaurant SeaSide on one of the piers . the noisy bars with the `nightlife´ west of Hilton hotel , the only skyscraper at the beach , on the eastside lies a chinese temple and the safest beach to bath and swim in .
